Associate Director of Admissions

Brooklyn, NY

Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Associate Director of Admissions. As an integral part of the admissions team, the candidate will communicate and represent the mission and values of Poly Prep to prospective families. The candidate should have strong communication and writing skills, attention to detail, work collaboratively with others and a passion to work with children and families. The Associate Director of Admissions will be responsible for supporting admissions related events, outreach, interviews, decision recommendations and the student/parent ambassador program.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Plan and execute outreach (school visits, fairs, one-on-one meetings, inbound admissions related questions) with various stakeholders
  • Organize and execute various admissions related events (open houses, campus tours, revisit days, virtual and ancillary events)
  • Interview prospective students and their families in either the middle and/or upper school
  • Read application files, evaluate and render recommendations for admission on several hundred applications
  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions, Enrollment and Financial Aid

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor’s degree 

Experience: Three to five years admissions experience in an independent school. Knowledge of Ravenna and Veracross.

Specific Skills: Clear and effective communication, creative problem solving, warm and engaging disposition, ability to build rapport and relationships, detail oriented. 

Certifications: NA

Special Requirements: This position often requires evening or weekend work and communication with families and/or colleagues after school and on weekends. 

Requirement: All employees must be fully vaccinated and show proof of their full COVID 19 vaccination.

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000
