Middle School Visual Arts Teacher

Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Middle School Visual Arts Teacher for the 2024-2025 academic year. The Middle School Visual Arts Teacher teaches studio art classes to students in grades 5-8 with a focus in any two or more of the following areas: drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture. The ideal candidate will exhibit a passion for teaching Studio Art with Middle School students; talent for working with diverse students, families, and colleagues; dedication to ongoing professional growth; and high levels of professionalism.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Teaching: 

  • Four to Five classes/sections 
  • Eagerness to work with students on an individual basis, as need be
  • Ability to keep accurate grades, effectively and supportively communicate with students and families, and provide written and oral feedback on student progress consistently throughout the school year

Additional Responsibilities: 

  • Assume role as an advisor for a group of students (approximately 7)
  • Advise a club or activity, a DEIB discussion group, and supervise periodic study hall
  • Demonstrate energetic commitment to professional development
  • Attend and contribute to meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to departmental, committee, divisional and grade-level meetings
  • Accompany students on occasional curricular trips 
  • Attend community events throughout the school year

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Master’s degree in Fine Arts, Art Education, or related disciplines required. 

Experience: Three years of teaching experience in a Middle School setting.

Requirement: All employees must be fully vaccinated and show proof of their full COVID 19 vaccination.

Salary Range: $75,710 - $98,915
