Lower School Substitute Teacher

Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Substitute Teacher. The Substitute Teacher will be hired on a daily basis as needed to help to maintain a productive, organized, and warm work environment for our students in the absence of their regular teacher(s). We seek candidates who are eager to engage students with patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism. The role is from September 8, 2026 through June 11, 2027.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Teaching:
- Support the academic program by covering classes in a teacher’s absence
- Carefully follow all teacher instructions
- Provide an account of the classroom experience as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Lower School, Assistant Head of Lower School and the Director of Community Life
Additional Responsibilities:
- Help students transition and move from one activity to another
- Supervise lunch distribution and recess as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Demonstrated interest and experience in working with children.
Daily Wage: $200 per day
Specific Skills: Facility with digital technology (Gmail, Google Drive, Zoom) and a capacity for learning more; flexibility and willingness to adapt.
