Interim Health & Wellness Teacher
Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Interim Health & Wellness Teacher. The Middle School/Upper School Interim Health & Wellness Teacher will teach a state-of-the-art, harm reduction and trauma informed health curriculum, and design and teach lessons aligned with our expectations for student-centered, research-based curricula and pedagogy in accordance with the standards set forth in the National Sex Education Standards: Core Content and Skills K-12. The position is available for immediate hire.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Teaching:
- Teach four sections of Middle School/Upper School Health
- Work with individual students as needed
- Keep an accurate and up-to-date online gradebook, effectively and supportively communicate with students and families, and provide written and oral feedback on student progress consistently throughout the leave term
- Collaborate with the teaching team, department, and supervisors in developing and delivering unit plans, lesson plans, and assessments that reflect the goals and mission of the department and the School
- Establish and nurture a supportive and inclusive classroom environment reflecting the School’s commitment to students’ well-being, belonging, and social-emotional health and development
- Demonstrate an energetic commitment to collaboration, professional development, and engagement in community events
Additional Responsibilities:
- Serve as a co-advisor to a group of approximately 18 students
- Collaborate with grade teams to ensure maximum student success
- Communicate effectively and promptly with students, deans, and families
- Attend and contribute to meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to departmental, committee, divisional, and grade-level meetings
- Accompany students on occasional curricular trips
- Attend community events throughout the leave period
- Fulfill other supervisory duties as requested by the department chair and division head
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in a health-related field
Experience: Two years of teaching experience
Specific Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Salary Range: $71,563 - $98,915
