Middle School Science Teacher
Poly Prep seeks applicants for the position of Middle School Science Teacher. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Teaching:
- Teach four sections of Middle School science (two sections of 7th grade science and two sections of 8th grade science)
- Work to support student learning on an individual basis, as needed
- Adopt innovative instructional and assessment practices consistent with departmental philosophy and pedagogies
- Keep an accurate online gradebook, effectively and supportively communicate with students and families, and provide written and oral feedback on student progress consistently
- Embrace professional learning, departmental collaboration, and demonstrate responsiveness to mentorship
Additional Responsibilities:
- Serve as an advisor to a group of 7-10 students
- Co-advise a club or activity and engage in supervision duties as necessary
- Accompany students on occasional curricular trips
- Demonstrate energetic commitment to professional development
- Attend and contribute to meetings during and after the school day, including but not limited to departmental, committee, divisional and grade-level meeting
- Attend community events throughout the school year
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in science or science education or related discipline required. Master’s degree preferred.
Experience: Three or more years of middle school teaching experience. Physical and life science background preferred.
Salary Range: $73,710 - $98,915
